Leading the Way in Sustainability

Every Week is Food and Wine Week

Orange F.O.O.D WEEK is leading the way in Culinary Tourism

What started out as an idea dreamt up by a small group of passionate local foodies three decades ago to showcase the provenance and rich diversity of the Orange region’s produce and to celebrate its producers and vignerons, has blossomed into a festival of national standing.

From humble beginnings, now in its’ 27th year the Orange F.O.O.D Week festival is Australia’s longest running regional food and wine festival and delivers a rich tapestry of six signature and more than 90 satellite events held over 10 days each April, during our local Autumn harvest and vintage season.

It is a celebration of the region’s abundance, embracing an ethos of sustainable practices and community spirit, and in 2018 became Australia’s first globally ISO 20121-certified food and wine Sustainable Event.

We are committed to championing the provenance of the Orange region’s produce, celebrating our local heroes and positioning the region as one of Australia’s most aspirational culinary tourism destinations – where every week is food and wine week.

Orange is NSW’s underrated foodie capital. Cornucopias of cheese, rich roast lamb dinners, creamy Chardonnays — Orange is officially the new black.

From tiny acorns, giant oak trees grow and such has been the case with Orange F.O.O.D Week. It has over two decades of history - it still pushes on - and it’s always fresh, always fresh.

Now home to a prosperous wine region, established local producers, brewers, coffee roasters and a competitive cafe scene, Orange is not a just pit stop anymore, but a true food-lover’s destination.

Orange F.O.O.D Week left me gobsmacked! Here’s a country town where 150 locals knock back a delicious and audacious meal. It was a dinner which I will always remember. And it was only the first of 25. Good on you Orange. You are the premier gastronomic city in NSW.

Compared to winemaking behemoths like the Barossa Valley, Orange is still hovering just below the radar, which makes this the perfect time to get amongst it, before every man and his dog knows about it.

First piece of Orange advice: forget everything you know about Chardonnay. Second? You're going to taste some of Australia's best, best, best wines in one weekend, so bring some Berocca and start fighting over whose designated driver.
