ORANGE F.O.O.D WEEK
Tamburlaine Organic Wines
Tamburlaine took the first steps towards organic certification in its Hunter Valley vineyard in 2002. After years of research and development, Tamburlaine now owns and contracts close to 450 ha of vines between Orange and the Hunter. Organic farming is key to soil health. Vineyards are not degraded through the constant application of non-biodegradable inputs, retaining natural health and providing longer-term sustainability.
To become certified organic, Tamburlaine had to go through a three-year conversion period before receiving certified organic status. Since, certification has been extended to all farms. Tamburlaine's Contemporary Organic philosophy aims to produce wines of terroir while limiting environmental pollution and leaving the land in the best condition possible.
