INFORMATION FOR TICKET HOLDERS (You lucky people!)
The wait is nearly over and soon you'll be foraging your way across the countryside enjoying magnificent high altitude wines and the wonderful food of Orange district! We are very excited... and hope you are too.
So here are just some last minute and final reminders for your Forage food adventure on Saturday 17th April.
Please have your Forage Tickets saved to your smart phone or printed out WITH THE BARCODE SHOWING, ready to scan at the bus departure.
NOTE - DUE TO TELSTRA MAINTENANCE AND LIMITED SERVICE IN ORANGE CURRENTLY, WE URGE YOU TO HAVE YOUR TICKETS DOWNLOADED ON YOUR PHONE OR PRINTED. MAKE SURE TO BE PROMPT AND ARRIVE AT LEAST 20 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE TIME.
All tickets have been issued as pdf attachments to your booking confirmation and we need to be able to scan the barcode. If someone else has purchased a ticket for you, an email forwarded without the attachment or barcode will not suffice.
If you have lost, or cannot find your original tickets please contact Roz Presho on email@example.com.
BUS DEPARTURE AND PARKING
Please arrive and be ready to board your bus at least 20 mins before your departure time at the Orange City Council Carpark, entrance located on Lords Place. There is plenty of parking at the Council Carpark - click this link to show you a map of the area. Your bus time is printed on your ticket.
Your bus departure time is the session time that you booked. i.e. If you booked a 10:30am ticket, your bus leaves at 10:30am.
WHAT TO BRING
You will be given a shoulder bag with a wine glass, bottle of water and some information about the route, as well as your food and wine tickets.
PLEASE - DO NOT PUT YOUR GLASS LANYARD ON UNTIL YOU DEPART THE BUS AT FORAGE. If you sit down on the bus with it on, it may break.
You may want to bring a picnic rug or chair to sit on as there will be limited seats along the track, as well as a hat and sunscreen.
WHAT TO WEAR
The terrain is uneven in places and sturdy footwear is a must (thongs, sandals and high heels are definitely not permitted - you will not be allowed on the bus) and long pants are probably better than shorts.
The weather in April is generally delightful but it can change at short notice, so a jacket in case of cool or showery conditions could be handy.
BIO SECURITY MEASURES
Bio-security measures are being implemented to protect our landholders and their agricultural production. You will be required to stand in a chlorine solution [less concentration than your average swimming pool] foot bath for a period of 1 minute at the bus loading. Please keep this in mind when choosing your footwear.
For more information in the role you play as a farm visitor in bio security, please visit the NSW DPI website.
RUBBISH AND RECYCLING
All materials used along the Forage trail are all compostible. Please help our organisers [and the environment!] by putting your rubbish in the correct bins provided. There will also be the opportunity to recycle your water bottle, glass and Forage bag if you do not wish to take them with you.
No pets are allowed at this event, unless they are a certified guide, hearing or assistance dog.
Forage is an outdoor event - it is not an event that can be held indoors. The event will go ahead unless the conditions are deemed to be too dangerous. Updates will be emailed to you and we will endeavour to contact you via text message if you have provided a mobile phone number when booking.
Keep an eye on the weather forecast and dress appropriately. Bus departure times and procedure will not change.
Buses will be available for the return trip to Orange from 3:00pm and will leave when the bus is full. The last bus will depart at 6:00pm, marking the close of the event.
FINAL INFORMATION FOR FORAGERS
As Forage traverses across private property, please be respectful and place rubbish in bins provided. Remember, you may be standing next to the owner of the land!
Water is available at each station and toilets will be located at specific stations along the way and marked on your map.
This is a non-smoking event.
And another final reminder out on the trail - take your time! Meander your way across the paddocks, through the vineyards, talk to your fellow foragers, sing, dance, perhaps do a handstand and above all enjoy!
